Hi,

You're looking quite ahead. Version 11 and 12 are not even out yet...

Anyhow, for "M" i would suggest "Monthly Mortgage" :D

The current version 10 is Julia as you might know. 11 is going to be named Katya. 12 will be something with an L, and 13 with an M.
I think this is decided by Clem and the development team (http://www.linuxmint.com/teams.php).

@ mychance: We're not at Ubuntu here, we are using girl's names ending on A. Probably Mina for 13?

I don't know about 13, but for LM12 obvious "Mint Layla" is obvious. :D

Yes, is also a name for 12 that I thought about. By the way, it's not as obvious, it can also become Laura.

Yes, it is more in line with the names of earlier Mint versions.

Miranda

From http://www.behindthename.com/name/miranda...

Derived from Latin mirandus meaning "admirable, wonderful" or "to be admired".

It's probably worth reminding those who're thinking of submitting suggestions that the naming conventions for LM Editions to date has been:

1. Each new version's name starts with the next consecutive letter of the alphabet,

2. Female names only are used (presumably us other half of the species will get our chance after LinuxMint 26) , and

3. All names end with the letter "a".

This isn't to say you can't submit other names but your suggestion is more likely to be considered if it follows these conventions. (I've looked, but cannot find why this particular naming arrangement is used. It'd be interesting if someone would enlighten me.)

Just got another idea for a name that is sure to be popular...

Marijuana

I can hear the discussions now... What version of Mint are you running? I'm running Mint 13 Marijuana... it runs really smooth - like most LTS editions (and its namesake)!...
