Well this is good news! I thought my remastering days were over when I read about it's untimely demise a few days ago (I'm a fan of Backup mode!). I just hope future Mint remasters will be pleasant just like I experienced with my Mint 9 remasters.

Hmm... Mint should have it's own remastering app like they do over at PCLOS.

I discovered a few weeks ago Fragadelic had discontinued the project . TOTALLY BUMMED!
...but I'm happy NOW!

I spent many hours trying to find a suitable substitute...nothing else out there even comes close.

I put
deb http://www.geekconnection.org/remastersys/repository ubuntu/
into the sources

It gave me an error message

Failed to fetch http://www.geekconnection.org/remasters ... Sources.gz 404 Not Found
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

but it did seem to install ok from synaptic package manager.

On that page, click the "Ubuntu Versions" and at the bottom of the page you get this:

Where can I get remastersys?
The Remastersys repository needs to be added to your /etc/apt/sources.list

Paste the following into the sources.list:

For Gutsy and Earlier - up to version 2.0.11-1
# Remastersys
deb http://www.geekconnection.org/remastersys/repository remastersys/


For Hardy and Newer with original grub - version 2.0.12-1 and up
# Remastersys
deb http://www.geekconnection.org/remastersys/repository ubuntu/

For Karmic, Lucid and Newer with grub2 - version 2.0.13-1 and up
# Remastersys
deb http://www.geekconnection.org/remastersys/repository karmic/


Then simply either reload in Synaptic or you can "sudo apt-get update" and install remastersys.

If those links aren't working, you should check their forum for answers or other resources.

Hi Reljoy. Here is the link to the Ubuntu forum page where the person who created the program tells where to download the program. If you get no joy, just post there and let him know and I am sure he will get you straight.
