Region format

Postby dark4p » Mon Nov 14, 2011 4:38 am

Hi I'm new at the forums and i would like to help. I'm from Macedonia a country on the Balkan peninsula and would like to contribute - I noticed in the newest Mint 12 Lisa RC that it's not possible to select Macedonian region for Dates, Times, Numbers, Currency and Measurement values which can be found in the Keyboard Layout options.

I didn't know where to put this post so i posted it in here (sorry about that).

I can assure you that I'm not doing a fraud and that the values I present here are true and used by the Macedonian people.

Days of the week:
Monday = понеделник
Tuesday = вторник
Wednesday = среда
Thursday = четврток
Friday = петок
Saturday = сабота
Sunday = недела

(we do not capitalize the first letter of the days of the week or the month)

January = јануари
February = февруари
March = март
April = април
May = мај
June = јуни
July = јули
August = август
September = септември
October = октомври
November = новември
December = декември

We write numbers the same way so that part can be left the same but we use different time and date layout:

Date layout: 15/10/2011 (DAY/MONTH/YEAR) or 15 октомври 2011
Time layout: 10:45 (for 10:45 am) and 22:45 (for 10:45 pm)
Time zone: CET (UTC+1)

Currency: ден. or MKD (Macedonian denar or "Македонски денар").
Measurment: Metric

Some of these informations can be confirmed through Wikipedia ( If it's possible please add this to the final release (Lisa). For more info ask me here or via mail (dark4 [at] or gorgekara [at]
