USB 3.0 Controller and Card Reader aren't working

Hi all, newbie here with some questions.
I've installed the latest LMDE release on my Alienware M18x and noticed some issues.

Firstly - the USB 3.0. The m18x has two USB controllers, one is USB 2.0 the other is USB 3.0.
The 2.0 controller works just fine out of the box while the 3.0 controller does not work - nothing happens with i stick a USB drive in.

Here's what i see :

So the problematic one is of course the 22:00.0 USB Controller: NEC Corporation uPD720200 3.0 Host Controller (rev 04)

Any idea how to diagnose/fix the problem ?
(I found this post saying i need to build the kernel (!) http://okomestudio.net/biboroku/?p=1360 but i don't really want to go there)

Second issue is with the card reader which is being shown as follows :

I didn't have USB 3.0 Controller and not using LMDE .
But maybe you can show your output of lsusb ?

After searching internet for almost 2 hours , i am found
A possible solution to get USB 3.0 devices to work

Still nothing about the card reader? Got the same probleme.... Still realtek.... seem to be a quite wide probleme =(

Finaly it is working for me, ad to manually install the driver for realtek
