I've been trying to install my printer which is a Samsung CLX.3160 and relies on the package foo2zjs which seems to uninstall my cups since it's version number is lower that 1.5-013.
On debian 6 this isn't a problem and the debian testing repos show a cups 1.5 whereas my repo is mint debian testing and cups is 1.4.8-2.
Is there a reason why the lmde cups is such a low version?
Any good tips for solving this?
Thanks!
cups < 1.5

Re: cups < 1.5
You are tracking the mint latest testing sources. This sources are freezed for weeks now and nobody knows, when updatepack 4
will be out. What you can do ist add debian testing source to your sources.list
update cups and then uncomment or delete the source.
will be out. What you can do ist add debian testing source to your sources.list
Code: Select all
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian testing main contrib non-free

If Gerd50's post doesn't help, you could try this:
