Hello and happy Friday to everyone. I am unsure if this is the right place to post this information, but here is some bugs I'd like to report anyway
I am using a basic base model intel single core Toshiba Satellite laptop and have recently made the switch to Linux Mint 12 MATE from Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. I have tried to get help from the support chat room, but so far no one has been able to figure out the solution to my problems.
1.) Keyboard Shortcuts- Some short cuts that I have programmed such as the switch windows to different workspaces and the screen shot capture work. Others such as the volume control, web browser, and email client do not work. The shortcut commands are entered correctly and there are no other shortcuts that have the same command, so there are no conflicting shortcuts there.
2/) Gnome-Power-Settings- There used to be notifications and access to the power controls on linux mint 11 and the computer says its installed, but yet it does not appear in any menus, or located anywhere on the hard drive other than synaptic saying its installed. When my battery gets low there are no notifications and my laptop just dies without warning, very scary when you have been doing hours worth of work and the computer does not hibernate when its supposed to. lol!
3.) Compizconfig-Settings-Manager- For all intensive purposes the computer says that compiz is installed and active. Yet when I adjust the settings absolutely nothing is enabled as listed. I tried compiz --replace in the terminal, didn't work.
Please let me know if anyone knows the solutions to these bugs, for I would really appreciate it. I really love Linux Mint 12 and do not want to go through the hassle of reverting back to Linux Mint 11. Take care, be amazing, and have a wonderful evening everyone.

Re: List of Bugs
For #3, use the following code to start compiz:
You can add that command to your startup applications.
Edit: Also, for the battery indicator, try this thread: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... 09#p504909
Code: Select all
compiz --replace

Re: List of Bugs
Please post this in the forum, in software & applications or desktops & windowmanagers for example, if you want to get help with it. Reporting a bug does not really make sense if you haven't yet tried to solve it with help from the forum.
Please make seperate threads for the three topics, and don't post in Bugs anymore.
