On my 6 year old HP DV5000 laptop, Mint 9 automatically installed the wireless driver (while connected to wired ethernet, of course).
I replaced Mint 9 with Mint 12 LXDE today and there doesn't seem to be a wireless driver available. Is there an easy way around this or do I need to re-install Mint 9? Mint 12 LXDE installed a wireless driver on my miserable little HP Mini 210 without difficulty. Not having Mint wireless on the old DV5000 is not a total disaster - I still have Win XP up to date on that machine.

Re: Wireless with LXDE?
If your wireless is working under XP, you can use ndiswrapper to load the windows driver: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... 00&start=0

I re-installed Mint 9. All is well again!
