wireless N speed
My wireless give me a 72 Mb/s connection speed, but i'm using wireless N.
The speed must be 150 Mb/s or higher, how can i speed up the connection speed?.

Re: wireless N speed
Does you ISP even supply that high of a bandwidth? If not, then no.
Re: wireless N speed
Yes they supply that, friends of me have 150 Mb/s speed.
They have the same ISP as me, onley they use Windows 7.

Re: wireless N speed
What's the max speed when you are directly connected to the modem via a DSL line? Can you go to www.speedtest.net and verify you speed?
Re: wireless N speed
I'm talking about the connection of my laptop whit my acces point, not my internet speed.
But now i know my internet speed is not correct also i must have 100mb up and down, and it is now 30mb up and down.

Re: wireless N speed
If you have a 150 Mbps connection, the 150 speed is only theoretical. The true speed will always be slower - and you will only near 150 when you are very close to the access point or router. 72 Mbps wireless-N is not bad if there is a wall in-between.
Maybe you can get higher speeds with computers that have a 300 Mbps wifi card. If the signal is so bad that you have only half speed, a 150 Mbps wifi card will have 75 Mbps signal while a 300 one will have 150 Mbps signal. At least, if your router supports the 300 Mbps 802.11n standard.

Re: wireless N speed
What wifi card do you have? Please run inxi -N in terminal and post the output.

Re: wireless N speed
Ok, you have Realtek RTL8188CE wifi. That's only a 150Mbps card, meaning the actual speed will always be lower than 150Mbps.
Maybe speed can be improved by installing an updated driver. Please download compat-wireless-2.6.tar.bz2 from here: http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Downl ... he_tarball
After unpacking the downloaded file, please go to the folder where you unpacked it, and run this in terminal:
Then please reboot and go to speedtest.net again.
