Linux Mint 13 does not detect Bluetooth of AR 9485

Post by phileas »

Hello,
yesterday I installed Linux mint 13 on a HP 655 notebook. It has an Atheros AR 9485 wireless and BT combo card.
Wireless works. Unfortunately Bluetooth is not recognized.
rfkill list all
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
1: hp-wifi: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
The problem is well known. I think it used to work with kernel 2.6 but not with kernels 3+. For example here.
And 2 other links
link 1
link 2

Is there any way to make it work?

Here some Hardware info:

Since the problem is documented on linuxwireless.org and kernel.org where the drivers for all versions of linux are developed, just how do you expect users here to help? My suggestion if you need BT is to get a USB adapter.
[Edit] your original post and add [SOLVED] once your question is resolved.

The problem is not documented for my adapter. It is documented for ath3k driver and only for chipsets AR9280, AR9285, AR9285 for ath9k driver. I have AR 9485.

Probably the solution is here. I didn't try it, as I am not an experienced linux user, but it might help someone.
