I just updated to a new laptop and I just noticed that my battery life is MUCH worse in LMDE than in Windows. My old laptop an HP 8440p had basically the same battery usage between the two OS's, but my new laptop an HP 8460p isn't. I have dual batteries and in Windows I noticed that the batteries last between 8 to 10 hours. In LMDE it's maxing out at around 4.5 hours (getting about half the time).
I did some searching through the forums and LMDE Hacking threads, etc...but haven't found much to help resolve it yet. Does anyone know of any possible fixes or a pointer to where I can look further?
Thanks for any help at all...

Re: LMDE Battery Life
I had the same problem long ago with my asus ul30a, fixed that using laptopmode-tools. You can configure it using the following information:

Re: LMDE Battery Life
Thanks for the tip... I've installed laptop-mode-tools and will see how it goes. I didn't have laptop-mode-tools installed on the previous laptop and all worked great, I guess there's something about this new one.
Thanks again, for the tip!!
