BZFLAG fails to start. It flashes for a second and then disappears.
I ran it in terminal and I get this error:
bobby@bobby-desktop:~$ bzflag
X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 134 (XFree86-VidModeExtension)
Minor opcode of failed request: 10 (XF86VidModeSwitchToMode)
Value in failed request: 0x62
Serial number of failed request: 146
Current serial number in output stream: 148
Any ideas

Re: BZFLAG Issue
Solved:
I went to the BZFLAG site. That message has to do with the resolution on the game not matching with the screens resolution on the desktop.
My monitor was not set up properly and even though it didn't affect Mint, it was bad for BZFLAG. Probably since it was using a generic model and there wasn't a specific driver, this caused the problem (I don't since I am new to Linux). I am bit surprised there was not a specific driver, since the Hyundai L90D+ was a popular monitor and has been around. Hopefully this will help someone with similar issues.
BZFLAG is alot of fun. I highly recommend it.
