Linux kernel 3.2.33 LTS

Post by Brian49 »

Can anyone inform me when Linux kernel 3.2.33 LTS will be available as a Debian package, please? The Linux developers announced it on 31 October. I'd like to try it out, but compiling isn't my bag. Many thanks.

Why not try the Liquorix kernel? Currently on 3.6.x, if you don't like it or it cause problems, just boot to previous kernel in grub and uninstall with synaptic.

I (and many others) have been using for months with no problems.

I'm already using the Liquorix kernel, thanks. It works well, but I don't like the amount of hard-drive space it occupies: 110Mb compared to 80Mb for the standard kernel. Of course that wouldn't matter if the Liquorix kernel was providing greater functionality, but it isn't, as far as I can see; I suspect that the extra space is taken up by drivers which my system doesn't use.
