LMDE installer with UP5 packages?

Postby TomRoche » Tue Nov 13, 2012 5:22 pm

Does anyone have, or have instructions for making, an LMDE installer that installs Update Pack 5? to avoid doing that huge update after the initial install. Is there a .iso anywhere?

not yet (at least for the the official lmde isos)
Improvements in live-installer and a new tool called DDM which simplifies the installation of 3rd party drivers are also planned for LMDE. Depending on how fast they progress, new LMDE ISOs based on UP6 might be released in December or in January.
here

there's one "unofficial" respin lmde-kde already with UP5

Would still need to do download of UP5
But
can clonezilla a install after a UPack5 upgrade.

Save time if need to ever do a reinstall and usually can 're-clone' to another computer with minimal fuss (as long no proprietary drivers and equal or larger partion(s).

edit Forgot great news ZZero will hold of installing ATI driver on fresh install to be able to try in UPack6. :)
