Hello,
I am excited to be trying this OS! I have been using Ubuntu since 8.04 on my Inspiron E1505 and I am not thrilled with Unity - at all. I am currently downloading 13 Mate 64 bit and I was hoping to get some advice before I wipe my PC.
Whenever I installed ubuntu I always used 64bit alternate installation - does this setup have a comparable GUI?
Seeing that my PC is 5 years old - will I have any trouble connecting hardware? I know with ubuntu I always had to install Nvidia driver support.
Is the terminal identical to Ubuntu's? As in after installation all I need to do is run 'sudo aptitude update' and 'sudo aptitude full-upgrade' along with clean/autoclean?
Much thanks - sorry if this is a repeat of an older thread, I did search before posting

Mostly the same as Ubuntu but you shouldn't try dist upgrade or full-upgrade
