As the topic states I'm running Mint 12 KDE with KDE 4.7.4 and I'd like to update to 4.9 but I am unable to do so. I've added the kubuntu-ppa backport repository with the "apt-add-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports -y" command, as many have suggested. I ran apt-get update and apt-upgrade but nothing has changed... still on 4.7.4.
I don't have any errors or anything to paste so it's difficult to say why it's not updating... it's just not. Anybody have any ideas or have had success with this same scenario?
Thanks!

Just a thought, are you using 'sudo' before all those commands?
Code: Select all
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports -y
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get update
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get upgrade
