ATI: Mint 14 thinks its time traveling. Confusing isn't it?

Post by empire--dumps »

I only have a 450w PSU. There is no way I can generate 1.21 Gigawatts, nor its it even possible to get up to 85 mph while sitting at my desk. Lightning strike perhaps?

Hahaha! All jokes aside, Mint 14 64 bit thinks its going back to the past for some odd reason. I don't know how I can explain this without seeming entirely crazy.

Whenever I try to get a screen cap. It doesn't show my current desktop or windows. It shows either old windows, or things that are even open anymore. Or I'll get some cary glitched out errors.

Now remember I can't get a accurate screencap to show the issues. I I took what I could get and edited them to show what I see, vers what screencap puts out.

So firstly, I have a dual monitor setup. Ever obvious first method to fix was disable one while screen capping. Didn't work. The yellow boxes are what I see open. I don't even have to other 2 windows open! They even show in the window bar below!

ALSO I NOTICE THESE FORUMS won't allow such large res. so here is a direct link if you wish to see the correct sized images: http://imgur.com/a/atVaS

Ok, so I got another screencap of the dual monitors. Once again, yellow boxes are what I see. You can see them now for some reason! But the others windows are open to my knowledge. (The blur on the terminal was me)

Recently I had driver installation issues. Here: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=118824. Short story, fresh install. Ran software sources. Installed the updated driver option.

I did some search and I didn't see anyone else having this issue. I don't know if its a driver, the gpu, or is just another weird Linux thing. But thank you for reading! I need this desperately. As I'm looking for additional help (elsewhere). But I need screencaps to show exatly what I'm expierencing.

Here is some goodies if it helps:
