Reference to 'Ubuntu' in software sources

Postby jommoner » Wed Dec 12, 2012 2:11 am

When you go to the 'software sources' window to get the Nvidia drivers to install, it says at the bottom

'A proprietary driver has private code that Ubuntu developers can't review or improve. Security or
other updates are dependent on the driver vendor.

I guess that should be changed from Ubuntu -> linux Mint :) (a minor bug I know!)

Since Mint is based on Ubuntu code, there will be many instances similar to this. Many of them are required by license as a means of attributing the code to the Ubuntu devs. If the code was not changed by the Mint dev team, it is safer to not change the attribution from Ubuntu to Mint

It is also not really worth the development team's time and effort to go through every line of code and change every instance of Ubuntu to Mint.
