Adding Icon to Cinnamon and Gnome Desktop
When I try to add icons to the Cinnamon desktop they don't appear. Is the desktop locked. If so how due you unlock it. This is also true fir Gnome desktop.

Which version of Mint are you running? This is probably unrelated, but, if you're using Nemo, and still have Nautilus installed, it can cause some issues.Harley51 wrote:When I try to add icons to the Cinnamon desktop they don't appear. I'm using Linux Mint 14 and not using Nemo. Anything else on this.

Nemo controls the desktop in Mint 14. Is Nautilus installed? Nautilus controlled the desktop in previous Mint versions and it can cause a conflict.
