And when you do
The fact that the make for tp_smapi misidentifies the kernel makes me suspect it may not be for Ubuntu.
I thought Ubuntu used vanilla kernels, but perhaps not quite...
this is after some install of sorts?sudo modprobe hdaps

apt-get or better I think with mintUpdate - you set all levels to be visiblehow would i go about updating my kernel in mint?
BUT - I did not find a new kernel - seems I was mistaken
To get it you probably have to edit sources list so all repos are active temporarily (don't know where a kernel may hide )
There certainly is a newer kernel, if in the more or less normal repos leaves me uncertain now...
