files not showing up in trash

Postby wazzupp » Thu Jan 24, 2013 2:14 pm

Hi,

In Nemo when I remove a file in the root filesystem it shows up in the trash.
But it doesn't happen when I remove a file from removable storage.
The file gets placed in a root .Trash folder of that device but doesn't show up in the trash.
I have to remove a .Trash folder every time to actually delete it.
Is anyone else having this problem?

You can hold down the Shift key while deleting a file to permanently it. Or from the right-click context menu select Delete instead of Move to Trash. And IIRC, emptying the trash will also empty the trash of connected storage devices, but I can't test that right now.

yes i know I can delete them permanently by shift + delete key but working with lots of files I don´t like extra shift keystroke and then hit enter for conformation for every file.
I just want to review the trash before making permant changes.
And deleted files of the removable storage won´t even show up in the trash, but I can see them in .Trash-1000/ folder, whereby ¨empty trash¨ button is greyed out.
