After installing Mint 14 xfce on my laptop I noticed that strange things were happening. I wasn't able to install software updates, Dropbox didn't work, Movie player kept crashing, and my computer was somewhat slow.
I decided to reboot into my trusty Puppy Linux CD, and find out what was going on. In Gparted I noticed that my SDA1 partition (boot), had only 1.6GB of space left. My home partition (sda2) had tons of space. I then discovered that the Audacity temp files were taking up about 36GB of my 40GB partition. I deleted the Audacity folder, and voila. When I rebooted into Mint, all was well. I immediately went into Audacity and set the temp files to be saved to sda2. All is well and man is it fast!!!
For me this is a valuable lesson that I thought I would share so that anyone else who has strange problems going on might want to check how much space they have left on their boot partition.
A valuable lesson

I'm really enjoying your show, and this great big fantastic pile of links. You'll have to watch out, I could wear down the grooves on your server.
