[SOLVED] Mint 14 Mate doesn't have image resizing

Post by ecoalex »

In upgrading to 14 Mate from Mint 11, I lost the ability to resize images using mouse right click menu.I installed nautilis image control, and eye of gnome which worked with katya, still no resizing in right click menu. What do I need to have this?

Thanks

I'm not sure if this helps but MATE is fork of Gnome 2 and Nautilus and Eye Of Gnome are Gnome 3. Many Gnome 3 applications don't work on MATE.

Thanks for that. Is there any app that will allow me this feature? It was handy.Would the Cinnamon desktop work?

I tried installing Cinnamon 14,but lacked the graphics drivers, this on a AMD dual core desktop.Strange it did fully load on an older HP Pentium 2 machine.

There's a caja-image-converter in software manager it supposed to add "resize image" to the file manager.
Caja extension to mass resize or rotate images
This package adds a "Resize Images..." menu item to the context menu of
all images. This opens a dialog where you set the desired image size
and file name. A click on "Resize" finally resizes the image(s) using
ImageMagick's convert tool.
