Video Driver Reinstall

is there a tool or repair option that will restore my video settings back to the default that mint detects upon installation? it was working perfectly since installation up to a few days ago. im not sure what happened or what changed. my history doesnt show me having typed anything other than some top and kill commands.

im on mint14.

Are you using a linux driver for your video driver? If not it usually taken care of with a module that comes with linux mint. You can reinstall that driver if its a linux tar package for it. How did you install it originally?

If you got a different graphics driver let us know. You can do an apt-get on some packages and reinstall them to see if it will help with any issues you are having on that graphics card.
