It would be nice if gedit in M14-Cinnamon had a "print selection" in the print dialog & a better way to manipulate the header/footer. So I've been dragging Kate over for the text editor with dependencies like nepomuk which is not optimal. Any better ideas? Bluefish is a nice one but lacks those simple features, Geany & Scite same thing.
Thanks

Re: Print selection in gedit print dialog
Linux Mint isn't the developer of Gedit so unless they fork it, not much they will do about this. They were looking into a replacement for Gedit though; not sure if this is on track for the next release. Linux Mint 14 is installed with an older version of Gedit because the developers weren't satisfied with the mutated functionality in newer versions (especially search is unusable in my opinion).
