Reinstalling Win 7 on dual-boot machine <SOLVED>

Post by mgold1 »

I have been running a dual-boot system for some time. WIndows 7 is on one hard drive, LM 14 64-bit is on another drive. I need to reinstall Windows 7 on its drive. How can I do this without overwriting GRUB and not being able to boot into Mint? (Kernel is 3.5.0-17-generic x86_64.)

Hello mgold1,

Windows likes to think it's the only operating system and will overwrite the MBR if that's where you have grub but it's not that difficult to reinstall grub afterwards here's a page the will tell you how.
