gnuplot doesn't work in Konsole

Postby annadaprasad » Sat Mar 09, 2013 8:57 am

I'm using KDE Nadia. I downloaded gnuplot from official repository via software manager. I run konsole and type '

Code: Select all

gnuplot
'. Even thought I get an error '

Code: Select all

Terminal type set to 'unknown'
', the prompt changes from '

Code: Select all

annada@StudyRoomPC ~ $
' to '

Code: Select all

gnuplot>
'. So I guess gnuplot is running. But when I try to plot a function, I don't see any plot. And gnuplot doesn't show any error. Back a year ago when I was using Windows, gnuplot opened a separate window to plot a graph, while working with command prompt. Mint doesn't open any new plot window. Does gnuplot need root privileges? Searching in gnuplot FAQ and help, got me nowhere. People using other terminal seems to have no problem. I guess its a problem with konsole. I can't get to see my graphs working. Plz help.

You need to install "gnuplot-x11":

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install gnuplot-x11

Return to “KDE”
