Friends,
I am new to mint. I want to learn quantum espresso. Accordingly I referred to the instructions mentioned on
http://conquer-ur-computer.blogspot.in/ ... buntu.html
and installed the latest version available on
www.pwscf.org/download.php
Everything worked fine, as in the terminal, I could not find any error msg.
But, when I checked in the menu, I did not find the software. Also I have referred to the topic
http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=20164
But I could not get any solution.
Surprisingly, when I installed Avogadro, another software thru software manager, I found it in the menu list, after installation.
Accordingly, I tried to remove Quantum espresso and reinstall in throuhg software manager, But still having the same problem.
Can somebody help me resolving the issue?
Thank you,
Rohini

Re: quantum espresso installed but not seen in menu
I can't say for KDE or XFCE but for Cinnamon and MATE you can add the application to the menu by right click the menu button and choose "Edit Menu". There you add the application to any Menu category you desire.
