About "Backported Packages" in Software Sources!
Hi friends, I was wondering what benefit do I gain in terms of extra packages or something like that by enabling the backported packages in software sources, or for what reasons would you enable the backported packages?

Re: About "Backported Packages" in Software Sources!
Hi
Ususally Clem just puts things in there (or 'incoming') for 'testing' uses, before releasing to the general public.
As you can see here http://packages.linuxmint.com/list.php? ... n#backport
There is nothing there now, nor has their been for quite a while...
He will ususally just post in the blog http://blog.linuxmint.com/ If there is something in there for testing.
============
EDIT:
Just to be more clear. The 'backports' you are speaking of in software sources, is Linuxmint backports, not to be confused with Debian Backports...
