Is my laptop overheating?

Hey guys,

I have installed Bumblebee on my Dell XPS 15, still only getting about an hour of battery:( This is the output of sensors on idle:

Is that too hot? And is there a way to check the health of my battery? It's a real bummer that I can only get an hour out of it at the mo :/

The temperatures are nothing to worry about, I believe they are quite normal for the Dell XPS 15. But of course if your laptop needs to work harder to cool down, it will drain more energy from your battery. If you want a longer battery life, you can always have a look at the power management settings, it might also let the temperatures drop a little.

To check your battery health, open a terminal and type:

cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info

It will show you the designed capacity of your battery and the last full capacity.

Depending on how old the laptop is and what the warranty period of your battery is, yes I think it would be a reason to get in contact with Dell.
