Desktop Special Effects
Do I need to install a driver? Right now my xorg.conf shows only 'nv' as the driver.

Re: Desktop Special Effects
Hi
You will need 3d acceleration to use desktop effects. The nv means you are using the open source nvidia driver and does not provide the 3d acceleration.
Mint KDE CE comes with a program named Envy to install ati and nvidia drivers. If you have any questions about the use of Envy please post back here and include the model of nvidia card you have with your computer.

Thanks for the reply. I found that out. What I found curious is that Envy installed an old driver when I have 7800 GT. (100.14.23)??
