PS3 controller not registering properly.

Postby lysander » Thu Jul 25, 2013 11:46 am

I am running Olivia x64 with Mate. My gamepad is the PS3 Sixaxis dualshock 3.

$ lsusb

Code: Select all

Bus 001 Device 006: ID 054c:0268 Sony Corp. Batoh Device / PlayStation 3 Controller

So there is some kind of communications happening.

I have tried going down the path with qjoypad but I too get errors that I cannot navigate.

jstest-gtk registers a gamepad only when it is connected. But it doesn't match my gamepad. They call it 'Gasia' with 27 axes and 19 buttons. On /dev/input/js0

I have not got any feedback from pushing any buttons on the gamepad.

I have also tried joy2key. But it too does not recognize any button presses.

Perhaps this will help:

$ jscal -c /dev/input/js0

Code: Select all

Joystick has 27 axes and 19 buttons.
Correction for axis 0 is broken line, precision is 0.

I'm not sure what else to try or tell.

Thx.

Now trying qtsixa but getting this error:

Code: Select all

"sni-qt/8708" WARN  16:55:46.917 void StatusNotifierItemFactory::connectToSnw() Invalid interface to SNW_SERVICE

I have used rejoystick with my Logitech game controller. Its a PS2-like controller.
It actually works really good in Mint. The analog sticks control the cursor just like the mouse.
But it only worked for some games and didn't work at all for others. Probably because I'm using PlayOnLinux for games.
