Possible to 'slipstream' drivers into an install DVD?

I'm trying to run Nadia as a persistent Live USB (made with LiLi) to keep as a backup/failsafe for the job I'm just beginning (I normally use #! but have a bad habit of breaking it). My problem is that, for whatever reason, there is no driver for the RT5390 802.11n card - and drivers cannot be installed onto a live key, even with persistence! Is there any way to slipstream these drivers into the Nadia .iso so I can reflash the key and actually read the internet?

You can respin the ISOs to incude additional packages and configuration: http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/918. But really, if you need to be able to do stuff like this why don't you just install Linux Mint to the USB thumb drive instead of using hacks like persistence? Boot the Linux Mint installation DVD / USB from another storage device, and then install it to this USB thumb drive. Make sure to install GRUB also to this device, and you are good to go. You have free persistence included, and can just as you normally would install and configure additional packages.

Part of the reason is I really like LiLi's feature of being able to virtualize Linux from windows as well as booting live from USB, in addition to being able use the key as an install disk in case I convert anyone...

You can also use remastersys to make a bootable ISO image from your current Linux Mint installation (which would include the drivers you need), and you can also install it again from that image. That wouldn't make much sense perhaps on somebody else's system though. And it doesn't have persistence, but perhaps you can hack that again with your program.

This is a bit of a necro-post but I am interested in doing the same thing, especially with LMDE.
It takes about 2 hours to patch a LMDE box after the install...
However, the link to "tutorial 918" seems to be missing and "remastersys" did not seem to include the installer when I tried it.
Would someone kindly point me to a recent method and/or confirm that LMDE is supported for respins?

kajukenbo, that tutorial was outdated and has since been removed. I urge you to post a request for help on how to respin LMDE ISO on one of the LMDE forums, which you can find here: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewforum.php?f=141
