Bad fonts -- Any way to fix this?

Post by malligt »

Here is Mint 16 LibreOffice Writer:

Here is Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy LibreOffice Writer

Is there a script (?) or tweaking something in Cinnamon (that I don't know about) to make the Mint fonts look more polished?
Not themes -- but improving the font spacing would be nice start.

Thanks.

Hi,

You can change Fonts in Cinnamon Settings:

Did you mean something else?

Cheers!

It's the font <spacing>in LibreOffice that is the core issue in my original comparative illustrations...

Look at the spacing in the words Text or Template in the sample illustration below....the letters seem un-naturally jammed together.

Changing fonts in Cinnamon Settings does not fix it.

LibreOffice using a true-type font that Cinnamon has an issue with, perhaps?
