mounting 2nd fat32 HDD in Elyssa

Post by marty510 »

I want to know how to mount my 2nd HDD on Mint5 048 ,which is a fat32 HDD?

BTW, Really liking the second Elyssa release, Clem, Husse, and others. Hope to see the final release soon!

Thanks,
Marty

Mount options have changed from Daryna but not for FAT as far as i know so you can use the same as in Daryna - note check that you use the right "devsdxx"
I have not used FAT since the introduction of XP so I haven't mounted myself, but something like this
/dev/sdaxx /media/sdaxx vfat iocharset=utf8,umask=000 0 0

hmm I thought I wrote an answer yesterday
Anyway, here goes

Code: Select all

gksu gedit /etc/fstab
add the line in my answer above, but with the correct designation
In this respect Elyssa is a step back as it is hard to find that out
To do that open gparted and use the /dev/sdaxx you find
Make a folder to mount it in
If you go for the /media option

Code: Select all

sudo md /media/sdaxx
After a reboot or a manual mount it will appear
