LMDE faster than regular LM

I notice a significant improvement over the ubuntu variety
It is really great

Not sure what is wrong with ubuntu, but any distro based on it, or plain ubuntu, just runs slower
any ideas why?

Any numbers to back up that "feeling" ? (eg compile times)

no
mostly firefox runs smoother, not jerky
good enough for me to say it is faster

yes. debian is slightly faster than ubuntu in several aspect :3
