Hi all. The other day I finally let go of all things holding me onto Windows, and promptly went over to distrowatch to find a flavor of nix that looked like it might suit me. Found mint, and liked what I saw, and what I had experienced before, experimenting on a VM with Mint 14 or 15. Less than an hour later, Mint is installed, updated, and running smoother than Windows ever did on my dinosaur [not really: more of an early mammal, by that timeline] of a computer. So happy I made the change, and since everything I was doing on Windows I can do in Mint, I've found (save for a few games, but not worried about it, as I don't game much anymore) I have no use to go back and install Windows again. Glad to have more features, and more control.
Anywho, hello from the 'glades.

One of the reasons I love Linux is that it embraces open source software, hardware, and other technologies.
