Dumb question for an Admin of this forum [SOLVED]

Hi,

Like I said, a dumb question. Either for an Admin or just somebody actually knows.

I notice that the times on this server are sometimes @ -5 and sometimes -8. Can somebody explain why that is? Different mirrors? East and West coast of the US?

Go ahead and laugh. I'm old enough that I really don't care.

It's probably the world time zones.
Eastern Standard Time (EST) is UTC - 5 I believe, with the West Coast (PST) of the US being UTC - 8

I get that part, especially I live in the -8 time zone. I just was curious why it changes from -5 to -8 and back. Like I said it is a dumb question.

Huh, mine always says "All times are UTC - 5" and right now says DST bc we're on Daylight Savings here for the summer...
In your User Control Panel, check what you have set for the Timezone in the "Board Preferences" tab

I know mine is right for my zone. Set with LA, which is correct. Even if it were not with DST, would only be an hour out, not three. I have observing this for several months. I think it changes in the evening. I could be full of it, but I don't think so.

Do you know where the servers for the LM forum are? I don't know either.

Educated guess: Assuming you have set the correct time zone in your UCP, it shows the "wrong" time because you opened the forum and you're not logged in.
