I think this and similar problems may be caused by FF2 using the same profile as FF3
Give it a profile of it's own.....

Close out all Firefox windows and run this in terminal.

Code: Select all

firefox-2 -ProfileManager
This will start Firefox 2 with the Profile Manager so you can give it it's own profile.

i deleted the default profile and created a new one for firefox 2 .
but still the same problem :-(
still "about:plugins" in firefox shows only flash and adobe reader plugin! no vlc plugin visible there!! so it cant play any streaming videos
also the " /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/" has "libvlcplugin.so" file!! how to make firefox recognise the plugin?
Copy to /user/lib/firefox/plugins
