Re: Linux Mint 17 "Qiana" KDE RC is out!
why did they inclue ibus? isn't fcitx considered much better? ibus sometimes has issues with showing some characters (like amissing stroke) and its selection of Chinese characters from the most popular to the least is doubtful, so sometimes one needs to waste quite a few seconds to find a proper character.
Re: Linux Mint 17 "Qiana" KDE RC is out!
The Japanese does not do the problem of the appearance.
A problem of this is that operation is changed in iBus 1.5.
Fcitx is adopting it for this solution.
If the argument of this is necessary, the other topic will be good.

Re: Linux Mint 17 "Qiana" KDE RC is out!
I confirm Xfce RC, but ibus-anthy is not included.
I judge that a package peculiar to KDE installed this in dependence.
I will have to request the addition of the installation package for Japanese.

Re: Linux Mint 17 "Qiana" KDE RC is out!
I have not been able to run ANY version of Mint 17 that I have tested so far, including KDE 64 RC except in safe mode
I am beginning to think it is in the kernel rather than any particular LIVE distro, as I have tried OpenSuse, Kubuntu, Antix,Fedora 20, and all have to be run in safe mode, or "nomodeset".
I have read that some monitors will not play nice with this kernel and I'm using a HD tv thru the VGA port.
I have a regular 17" LCD monitor in the shed....should I try that?
Thanks in advance
Edit: OOPPS, forgot to mention the system.. Intel G2030 dual core @3.0ghz with Intel onboard graphics (2500)? 2gb ddr3 500gb sata hdd, mitsumi dvd burner

Re: Linux Mint 17 "Qiana" KDE RC is out!
Final stable version has a bug with pager. If you put it on a panel and reboot the system, it goes out of panel and stays beyond the displayed space, only like two or three pixels of it are visible at the screen edge.
