How can I make a liveDVD from my current installation?

I have win7 on sda1, and Linux Mint 14 KDE on sda5, swap sda6.

I install more software to Ubuntu, add bookmarks in Firefox, Crome, etc.
Make Thunderbird perfectly for my need.
I add data to my home folder, setup desktop to look how I like it.

Basically, I have everyhing setup, with best software and data I need in that software.

How can I make a liveDVD from my current installation so I can install it on another machine or in Virtualbox?

Remastersys is not supported anymore and I don't know how do this with Clonezilla (clone one partition and setup in Virualbox)?

Any other way/software to do this?

What's killing me is the live CD idea, since that is a complete cd image plus scripts to manage the installation, that is some kind of hybrid setup, not simply an image (clone ) of an installed OS..

If it is just a matter of getting the installed system, then clonezilla or other cloning software would do the trick

Not sure that would works for you..it seems a bit more complicated..
-- but nevertheless always worth a looksee just in case..

Clonezilla seems straightforward enough, experiment a bit and see if your cloinezilla's copy(Cloned OS) can be installed or compare what gets created with you source OS installation..

There might be some better user guides but the backup(cloning) and restoring should be fairly easy, provided you have the space (storage) to copy/backup(clone) your source installed OS and can then restore that backup via the clonezilla program

Clonezilla guide, but to make it work, you need to setup network connections to boot and install, at least that seems to be the description on this guide..
--that isn't any different from other imaging software syuch as Nortin Ghost, which uses a boot device to connect to a network file location and runs its install to restore whichever image has been used..

Does Clonezilla support backup of just one partition?

I try that, backup only sda5, and restore in vrtualbox and even on another PC, and that doen't work.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I manage to install Remastersys, http://remastersys.com/

Remastersys start and I click Backup. After 20 minutes I can see new folder /home/remastersys/. but can not find .iso?

No .iso in /mnt/.

Do I need to do something else?

Download and install the Refracta Tools - not the operating system.

You will be able to create a bootable backup .iso of your running linux system using Refracta Snapshot which can then be burnt to DVD.

I install Refracta Tools and get 2.5 GB snapshot.iso, from my 11 BG partition.

When I start iso in Virtualbox, iso start, but after 5 sec stop with
Kernel panic
system_call_fastpath+0x16/0x1b

What's the problem here?

Your post is initally for help to make a live DVD of your current installation which Refracta has done.

I am unable to help you with VB issues - not a program I use.

Perhaps someone with more VB knowledge than I can help you.
