I decided I want to try and install LinuxMint on my desktop. However I have one problem that may be hard to overcome. My sound card is broken, but not completely. No sound will come out of the standard green output, however using the utility included with my motherboard I was able to make the computer send sound out of the microphone port. I want to know if its possible to do this under Linux and if so how?

Re: Switching Sound output
I can't say for sure - have to test for that
But I think that's done in hardware (the detection of output in the mic connector)
