mint on arm?

there are only five active arm based distros listed on distrowatch* the most beginner friendly of which is probably Debian
(it also should list Ubuntu but i don't think thats ready**)
it is important that we have a beginner friendly arm based distro as windows 8 will run on it*** and (according to rumors) so will future apple laptops****
most tablets use arm also
i believe basing it on lmde is the way to go as (again) Ubuntu doesn't seem ready yet**

ARM microsprocessors were a popular technology for Linux earlier on, but ever since Intel and AMD and recently Atom have released their product lines, SRM devices (while they have advantages in terms of temprature (low) operation are just not being seen as viable for popular/mass product lines
--so you won't likely find much in the way of system (OS) support for such non-standard/popular processors or systems..

• There are other processors or boards in the same category as ARM devices, that will have just as much problem becoming popular or supported
  --similar to the printer lines available, how many even offer Linux based support(drivers), even if they might work with Apple OSX for example..

Since it is not a mainline processor based system; those being Intel or AMD, then ARM support with a newbie/begiining user friendly distribution might or might not be that hot
--its the old catch-22 of popularity vs ROI, which explains so much in the commercialized/business world

yes! There are so many tablets out right now on ARM. It is a shame that mint does not support them. Mint would be a great tablet distro. It has been built for tablet from the get go with the mint menu that ubuntu is trying to copy.

ARM computers are so cheap and I so much prefer them as far as the hardware goes. The ASus Transformer is amazing and I wish I could put mint on it.

The Raspberry Pi thing looks interesting, it would make a good candidate for an ARM mint.
