List Known Laptops that can support Linux Mint

I have a Dell D 420 Latitude. Elyssa works fine inside Virtual Box ( XP is Main).
As I am travellingby nest weekend will have Elyssa installed as Dual boot. Do not expect any problem. Will share experience though

What doesnt: Microphone
Not tested: 56k modem, firewire, expansion slot
Notes: Wifi uses restricted driver. Making headphones work properly requires adding a line to a config file and rebooting. Linux won't pick up microphone despite being heard through speakers. To get compositing to work properly I had to install some xserver intel drivers from Debians Lenny Testing repository.

I have installed XP(30GB) with Mint (45 GB) as Dual boot .
Very easy install, surprised that wireless works.
More surprised that Network wired RJ45 does not. tried but no success ( even in XP it does not, dont know why)
Have not tried the Webcam yet

I've got Linux Mint on my MSI GX700 laptop. Updated the mini pci-e wireless card to Dell 1500 Draft N and works like a charm with ndiswrapper. No issues.

Everything works. Live cd found ethernet but not wifi. Installed and used how to tip from Unbuntu formum to install wifi - simple, easy - only because I did not find the wifi how to here until afterward. Not the hardware type so sorry if the spec list below is overkill.

Gateway MX6453 - everything works great, no complaints whatsoever. No glitches to workaround. I don't use compiz, but could even with the stock driver with Elyssa. Suspend/Resume is reliable and stable with the restricted driver. No need for Envy as I've seen.

Both my three-years-old PackardBell W3340 and my new PackardBell TN65 work fine with 2.6.27 kernel (the latter with x64 edition only - with x86 has boot problems).
On both laptops, suspend feature works, hibernate doesn't.

Lenovo N3000 works fine with Felicia except that if it is turned on with headphones plugged in sound comes out of both speakers and headphones. Unplugging and plugging back in fixes it.

I have not tested wifi (Intel and worked with Mandriva 2008 so should be OK), bluetooth, modem or fingerprint reader, and the variant I have does not have the webcam.

Ooops, just found my Lenovo 3000 N200 cannot do suspend/resume (it could not with Mandriva either). Not an issue for me as I use it as an occasionally portable desktop replacement, rather than carrying it about all the time, but it might be a problem for other people.

Everything works right out of the box, including the web-cam and the wireless card - woohoo! Just two issues to be wary of....

Dual-booting with Vista has bricked the Media Direct partition - meaning (2nd, related issue)that the Blu Ray player doesn't work (afaik Blu Ray is unusable with Linux). I got around it by installing Power-DVD on the Vista partition, but it would be nicer if the media direct was usable.

Other than that it works beautifully and is blisteringly fast in comparison to Vista for just about every task I throw at it

As you can tell if you look at my post history, many things don't work out of the box! It was a silent world upon installation, the media console was completely broken, and anything involving suspend/hibernate was out of the question.

But! With enough time (which is a lot) and effort, everything can be made to work perfectly. At this point, everything is going flawlessly. Once there's a way to sync an un-jailbroken iPhone in Linux, I'll be the first one to obliterate my Vista partition and never look back

Running Linux Mint 6 Fluxbox CE. Works very well... closed source firmware required for the Broadcom wireless... The package from the Hardy repos works much better than the one in the Intrepid repos... which keeps losing Wifi signal.
