ld-linux.so.2 - huge amount of ram

Post by rfpa »

Hi!

After noticing that my laptop's fan was working incessantly I checked the "system monitor" and saw this (screenshot below).

Auch!!!!!!

I had only Evince, openoffice writer and firefox open. I used acrobat's firefox plugin to dowload some pdf's.

I checked the internet and noticed that others had the same problem..

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=754944

Any comments?

(the fan keeps working, now for almost 8 minutes)

Note: after finishing this post, the 3 processes where almost 1.5gb combined!!!!! I stopped them and the fan also stopped.

You might want to post a bug on launchpad against ld-linux.so.2.

Is the Mint team aware of this problem?

I'm not sure. You could post it here to make sure they know: http://www.linuxmint.com/forum/viewtopi ... =6&t=13603
