So i downloaded Linux Mint 5 Elyssa R1. burned it to a disc, but got a I/O-error during the installation.
Then i burned the iso with another cd-burner and tried installing from that, now im getting Gnome initialization-errors and cant even start the installer.
Then i burned the iso with a third cd-burner and tried installing from that one, this one just gave me lots of errors that were spammed pretty early after inserting the disc, dont remember what they said, but they all had tags with rising numbers..
I tried all the discs on two different cd-roms, getting the same errors.
I even tried installing from the .iso to a virtual machine, even that gave me the Gnome-error....
What is wrong? ive run memtest, nothing wrong with my RAM.
Gnome Error, I/O error. md5 was fine

Have you tried booting into compatibility mode?
