- When I first boot (autologon is enabled), the panel is unresponsive to the mouse;
- I can open the menu using [super] but it's unusable because I can't click it and the keyboard doesn't focus on it;
- I can run apps using [Alt][F2] but right-clicking doesn't work anywhere; however, popup menus can be summoned using the keyboard menu button (to the right of the spacebar);
- If I reset the X server using [Ctrl][Alt][Backspace], panel and mouse behaviors are back to normal
- Even after resetting the X server, I've experience a couple of freezes (in the last hours) where everything is frozen but the mouse cursor, which I can move around (but clicking anywhere doesn't achieve anything). Fortunately, I can reset X server using [Ctrl][Alt][Backspace]
I will try downgrading cinnamon and report back.
Edit:
- I tried downgrading the cinnamon package, I guess there are other modifications I should have done because the window manager wouldn't load. Back to version 1.6 now.
- By disabling automatic login, I get a fonctionnal panel on first logon, even if the timed login takes over. So setting a timed login of 1 second seems like a satisfying workaround for now.
- I did encounter another freeze this morning. I was playing music and the music player kept on playing, I could move the cursor around but otherwise user interface was unresponsive. Hopefully future versions will have this solved.
