WYSIWYG Web Page Editor In The Repositories?

Post by tinker123 »

I s there a WYSIWYG web page editor for Mint 17 that I can install through Synaptic or The Software Manger, that isn't Seamonkey?

I couldn't find Kompozer, NVU, or Blue Griffon in synaptic.

Thanks

I don't know of a WYSIWYG editor in the repositories. I used Bluefish on a recent project, but it was a very simple one.

Blue Griffon works for me with Mint 17 XFCE. You don't actually have to "install" it. You just download and extract it. Then you open the folder and right mouse click on the file called "bluegriffon" and under the permissions tab, make sure the check box is checked to allow it to run as a program. Then, you can double click "bluegriffon" and run the program. It might be worth a try.

No and there should be. The repositories need a lot of updating.

Good to know that there is at least one WYSIWYG web page editor that still runs on Linux and that we haven't been sent back to 1990! :)

Thank you!

Have a good weekend.

"The Software Manger" is an interesting concept - Is that where software is born?

And why would you dislike Seamonkey?
I love it - I would hate being without it.

BlueGriffon will be available in Synaptic by enabling the removed repository in Software Sources.
