The XScreenSaver daemon doesn't seem to be running on display ":0" [SOLVED]

Post by James_Smith » Fri May 27, 2016 6:49 pm

I'm kind of a computer idiot compared to most here. I can't figure this one out.

I'm running Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca (64 bit). My desktop environment is X-Cinnamon (according to System Profiler and Benchmark—I would have just called it Cinnamon).

The computer is an HP Pavilion G6. Sorry, I don't know which one (they made about a hundred different versions of the G6).

You need to add Xscreensaver to the startup applications. The command for launcher is xscreensaver -no-splash
