Intel driver not loading, graphics very slow

Post by vladimir_the_bear » Sun Dec 11, 2016 3:22 pm

Hi!
I installed Linux Mint Sarah on a Lenovo Thinkpad E470, and the graphics are very slow, scrolling / moving windows takes forever.
To solve it i tried to install xserver-xorg-video-intel but when I check lshw it seems to not load the driver:

Code: Select all

$ sudo lshw -c video
  *-display UNCLAIMED

Please see if any additinal drivers are present in driver manager. Switch to these, reboot and test.
Please see
http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions ... ux-mint-18

Try installing latest supported kernel in Update-manager -- view--kernels, reboot and test.
If I have helped you solve a problem, please add [SOLVED] to your first post title, it helps other users looking for help, and keeps the forum clean.
