Setting a custom refreshrate with Nvidia prop' drivers?

First post here, loving mint!
How can i set a custom refresh rate of 75hz for my 1920x1080 max 60hz monitor?
Using Nvidia proprietary drivers 375.39, single monitor, GTX 960

Would you open the Terminal and use this command:

Copy the contents, open the forum reply window, click "code" in the menu and press Ctrl+V to paste the lines between the two code words.

For most flat panel monitors, 60 Hz is the preferred refresh rate.

Higher refresh rate = higher visible FPS in games and smoother interface, you can do this easily in windows with the nvidia utility

Oh, I see. Back in the day, we used to play around with custom refresh rates on CRT displays to get smooth video playback. And, of course, do reduce flicker for desktop use. However, this does not apply to LCD monitors. The closest equivalent to a refresh rate on an LCD monitor is its frame rate, which is often locked at 60 fps. Are you sure your monitor supports higher frame rates?

If you use the cvt utility to create a new mode using a 75 Hz refresh rate, this is the result:

The pixel clock is 220.75, far exceeding the maximum supported pixel clock. However, most flat panel monitors work better with a reduced blanking mode, which has a lower pixel clock and timings. That kind of mode can't be generated by cvt unless it has a 60 Hz refresh rate or multiple of it, so umc (universal modeline calculator) must be used:
